What is the most beautiful place on this earth you can imagine? Is it a quiet still morning by a lake? Is it standing upon on a mountainside beneath towering pine trees? Is it sitting beside the roaring and constant rhythm of the ocean? For me, the most beautiful part of this earth is when the cool autumn weather arrives and the leaves above transform into a gold and fiery crimson shelter that shimmer in the sunlight and gently float down to cover the ground below in a musty colorful crunch as you step. God created all this beauty both because He is an artist and because He wanted us to bask in the beauty of His creation.
Before painting all this beauty, before planning these priceless views which enrich our lives and give us peace, before imagining the ever-expanding universe full of stars and even before filling the deep mysterious ocean full of fish that have yet to be named or discovered, God chose to make you.
He chose to make you just as you are.
He chose you knowing your flaws.
He chose to forgive you.
He chose you with a purpose in mind.
You are part of this amazing creation. You are an irreplaceable beauty planned from the beginning. You were chosen before your favorite view was even in the plans of creation.
Take a sip of coffee and consider…
Long ago, even before he made the world, God chose us to be his very own through what Christ would do for us; he decided then to make us holy in his eyes, without a single fault—we who stand before him covered with his love. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by sending Jesus Christ to die for us. And he did this because he wanted to! –Ephesians 1:4-5 (NLT)
1. Take time today to thank God for the creation of you. Thank Him for creating you and giving you a place on this earth.
2. Consider your value. Before all this beauty that surrounds us, God made you. He had a plan just for you. Do you look in the mirror and criticize His creation? When you notice something beautiful today remember that in God’s mind- you came first.
3. Take a breath. You are still here. There is a purpose for you on this day. Use your life today to bless others- like the ocean gives you energy or the mountains bring you to awe or the changing of the seasons remind you of second chances- Use today, your precious chosen life as the heir of the glory of God, to reveal His love to the world.
Be thankful for the creation of you.
